Organic Gardener Certificate
Whether you're a home gardener or a professional landscaper, obtaining the Organic Gardener Certificate will give you the knowledge and skills needed to establish and maintain vegetable and ornamental gardens organically.
To receive the certificate, you must take seven required classes, pass a final exam, and complete 20 hours of volunteer work. WCC and the Ann Arbor area's Project Grow offer the certificate. If you're pursuing the certificate, sign up for Section 1 of the classes; if you're not, sign up for Section 2.
The classes are:
- Landscaping with Native Plants
- Organic Gardening: An Introduction
- Organic Lawn Care
- Organic Pest and Disease Management
- Organic Vegetable Gardening
- Organic Weed Control
- Soils, Compost, and Organic Fertilizers
- Organic Fruit Growing Made Easy (optional)
