Registration

Registering for classes is even faster and easier on the new LifeLong Learning website. Discover how to find the class you're looking for, what our class cancellation policy is, what to do when a class you want to take is full, how to drop a class and receive your refund, and more. Because LifeLong Learning classes are non-credit, you do not need to be admitted to Washtenaw Community College to register for them.

Admissions

You do not need to be admitted to WCC to take LifeLong Learning classes. The classes do not provide college credits, although some provide continuing education credits.

Books

All required and optional books for LifeLong Learning classes are available at the WCC Bookstore, and many are also available from other retailers.

Cart

When you place classes in your LifeLong Learning cart, we store them until you close your web browser. If you're logged in when you place classes in your cart, we save them in your cart until they're no longer available.

Class Cancellations

If WCC cancels classes because of inclement weather or other factors, it's announced on WCC's website. You also can obtain information about cancellations by calling WCC's School Closing Information Line at 734-677-5288.

If WCC cancels your class because of low enrollment, instructor illness, or other factors, the college will call or email you. You'll receive a full refund.

Create Account

You must have an account to register for classes. Having an account also lets you track your classes, view your payment history, log into the online classroom, and more.You can only register yourself for classes using your account. Family members, friends, coworkers, and others who wish to take classes must have their own accounts.

If you don't have an account, you can create one. On the form, simply type your name, home address, and email address. If you don't have an email account, you can get one through free email services. Once you finish creating your account, we'll instantly send you an email to verify your identity. If you don't see the email in your inbox, check your spam folder.

The email contains a link that you must click before you can use your account. Doing so brings you back to this website, where you'll be able to log in. The link expires in 24 hours, so be sure to click on it as soon as possible. If you miss the 24-hour deadline, you must go through the entire account creation process again.

If you're a WCC credit student or employee, you already have an account. Log in using your existing WCC email address and password.

Deadlines

You can register for most classes up to their start times. If you must register earlier, it's noted in the class description. It's best to register as early as possible because classes can fill up quickly

Find Classes

You can browse all classes by category or search for classes using keywords, location, times, and days of the week.

Full Class

If a class you want is full, check whether we offer other class sections that fit your schedule. If we don't, you can click on the Email Me link next to the class listing. If you're not already logged in, you'll be prompted to do so.

Clicking the Email Me link adds the class to your notification list. If an opening occurs, everyone who has asked to be notified of an opening receives an email message. The first person that registers gets the seat.

Register

Start by logging in to your LifeLong Learning account. If you don't have an account, you can create one. Once you're logged in, you can add classes to your cart. When you're finished choosing classes, click on Checkout.

Residency Status

Before you can finish buying a class, you'll be required to reconfirm your residency and tell us what county you live in. We're required to ask for this information by the state of Michigan.

Refund

The WCC Cashier's Office processes refunds manually. If you receive a refund, it will appear in your credit card account within 10 business days.
